    We envision that sustainable community libraries can serve as the place to bring all these together

  • Library Statistics Nigeria

    There are about 290 public libraries. That’s 0.15 per 100,000 people. Global average is 6.4 That is a huge gap that needs to be filled.

  • Target outcomes and services

    Access - provide library services to at least 3 local government areas.
    Training - Literacy and green skills programs to schools and adults
    Collection - Curate special collections on sustainability and environment

 FAQs

  • The project involves the design, research, education and building of sustainable/green community libraries across African regions.

    The first is planned for Ibadan, Nigeria and the target is to have it opened in 2026.

  • The library will serve over 200,000 people who live in the community and surrounding areas.

  • We have appointed a board of advisors and overseers who will ensure the project's objectives are achieved and resources including funds are used wisely and efficiently.

  • We have estimated about $200,000 per year for donations over the next 3 years. The remaining costs will be financed using grants and impact investing schemes.
